The topic of the training course was : sustainble development !
Different possible definitions and different components . We discussed
about some problems that we are facing in our countries on the way to
establish it and how we can manage to find new effective methods to
make it as a basic tool while working inside our NGOs and plannig for a
better future. We also talked about the importance of sustainble
development and the obligation of making it seriously a way of life in
everything we do !
Some of the participants presented samples of their works and that was
very interesting to learn new things.. and know new organizations...

Monsaraz, Alentejo in Portugal From 3 To 11 July 2010
LTTC "Hand in Hand for a Sustainable Future!"
Hand in hand, 23 participants from 6 Mediterranean partner countries and 6
EU programme countries (Bulgaria, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Jordan,
Lebanon, Spain, Portugal, Tunisia, Turkey) had started the first phase of the
long term training course on sustainable development which took place in the
beautiful village of Monsaraz, in the Alentejo region in Portugal; the training
course is organized by Salto-Youth Euromed Resource Center and in
partnership with the Portuguese National Agency.
Why Alentejo?
Alentejo is the driest and hottest region in Portugal. The climate and a lack of
infrastructure have impeded economic development and isolated the area
from the national and European economies. The Portuguese government had
decided to construct a dam to produce hydroelectric power, irrigation for
farms in the surrounding area, as well as a large reservoir where several
tourist ventures are also being built. Then the Dam was constructed and the
largest artificial lake in Western Europe called Alqueva was born. The project
of the lake had so many impacts on the development of the region; so the
venue was a great opportunity to take it as a case study for understanding
the reality of sustainable development due to the impacts of the lake on the
region of Alentejo.

LTTC "EVS in EuroMed a tool for active Citizenship"

Hola!!, my name is Nouha Ben Salem I am a youth worker in AJMEC and I recently
participated in the training course "EVS (European Voluntary Service) a tool for active
Citizenship" in Spain together with a potential EVS volunteer from AJMEC, Zied Ghanmi.
I represented AJMEC in the training as a Hosting and Sending organization for EVS so here
you will read about our participation in the training.
"EVS in EuroMed a tool for active Citizenship" is a long term training course (LTTC)

Activites internationales :
The Peace Bag
Barcelona 2010
The Peace Bag : on a journey to 14 countries in the EuroMed....
24 youth workers and youth leaders. 14 countries. 1 goal – to understand peace and intercultural
dialogue and how it can be translated and promoted through day to day work with young people.
A project partnership of 18 youth organizations across the EuroMed region brought together participants
from 14 countries in an 8-day training on peacebuilding and intercultural dialogue.
The background and experience of the participants proved
meaningful as they tried to find their way into a rather long
maze of understanding what really peace is, and how they
can work for it. It was evident how each participant´s
contribution was important in coming up with a shared
understanding of the concepts of peace, conflict,
dialogue, intercultural dialogue, nonformal learning, nonviolent communication, which also set the basis for the
work on the toolkit that they themselves collectively
developed towards the end of the training.
